This DVD by Jean-Pierre Fischer, 7th Dan Shotokan, starts with presenting all basic techniques of Shotokan karate: positions, punches, strikes, blocks, kicks, elbow strikes, knees strikes... the techniques are executed as solo training, both in one place as in movement, but also trainingform with a partner. All movements are executed both in normal speed and slow-motion. They are presented for each kyu (colored belts) up to 1st Dan black belt. The DVD continues with Jean-Pierre Fischer demonstrating the complete program of Kumites from the basic ones, to those required for black belt 1st Dan: Gohon-kumite, Sanbon-kumite, and Ippon-kumite. The techniques are shown at moderate speed, at real speed and slow-motion. Jean-Pierre Fischer is assisted by the skilled Jean-Michel Blanchard. All in all a very good and valuable DVD for practitioners of the Shotokan style. Bonus tracks include a demonstration on the Bercy Festival in 1999 and a Gallery. Jean-Pierre Fischer is the former trainer of the French karate equipe and is 7th Dan Shotokan. He was 14 times champion of France, champion of Europe and reached a second place at the world championships kata.
