After the death of Masutatsu Oyama in 1994, the Kyokushin-organisation fell apart in three groups, each claiming the status of official successor. Meanwhile its appears everything fell to its place, and is Kancho Shokei Matsui (Akiyoshi Matsui) seen as Oyama'ss legitimate successor. On this DVD we first see fragments of the International Officials Training Camp in Yugawara, where Oyama was still present. From there the film continues with training in sparring, where Matsui trains Hajime Kazumi. The last part of the DVD is reserved for sparring with the impressive heavyweight World Champion Francisco Filho. Matsui has to give all he has to stay up against him, and also analyzes, on behalf of the viewer, the beautiful techniques of Filho, complete with slow-motion fragments. Bonustracks contain demonstration at the Festival des Arts Martiaux de Paris Bery 2004, a training with the French School of Kyokushin Karate and demonstrations by World Champions Ryu Narushima and Hitoshi Kiyama. This is the top of Kyokushin fighting! Shokei Matsui (1963) started karate at 13 years old. Soon he was noted for his extraordinary skills. In 1985 and 1986 he won the prestigeous All Japan Open Tournament and in 1987 he won the World Open Karate Tournament. In 1986 he succeeded in the Hundred Man Kumite, where only a few pass the test.
